Privacy policy
Benvenù works entirely on your phone. Your answers and progress stay on your phone. We don't collect, receive or store any of your data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. We only receive an email if you choose to send one.
What the app keeps on your phone
To show your path, Benvenù saves the following in its own storage on your phone:
- the language you chose;
- your answers: whether your passport is from the EU, whether you're coming to study or work, your level, where you are in the process, your university (if you picked one) and your arrival date;
- which steps you marked as done and which documents you ticked;
- dates you add yourself, such as an appointment, a test date, an application closing date or your permesso expiry date;
- the days you plan to do steps, and your private notes on each step;
- your reminder and appearance settings.
The app never asks for your name, document numbers or ID numbers. This information is not sent anywhere. You can delete it at any time with "Reset all data" in Settings, or by uninstalling the app. If your phone backs up app data to your own iCloud or Google account, this information can be part of that backup, which Apple or Google handle under your account.
Reminders
Reminders are scheduled by your phone's own notification system. They are created on your phone and never pass through a server.
Internet and other apps
The guide's content is built into the app, so it doesn't need to send anything to work. When you tap a link, Benvenù opens official websites, maps or app stores in your browser or in other apps. Those services have their own privacy policies.
If we add referral links in the future, they'll be clearly marked. Tapping one goes through a short address on our website (such as /go/wise), which forwards you straight to the partner's website, and that website's own privacy policy applies. Benvenù doesn't track who taps them.
The "Play" button uses your phone's built-in speech voice. On some phones, that system voice may use the internet; this is handled by your phone's system, not by us.
When you email us
If you tap "Send feedback" or "Something different for you?", Benvenù opens your email app with a message addressed to us. Nothing is sent unless you press send, and you can read and change the whole message first.
When you send it, we receive your email address and your message. Besides what you write, the message includes the step you were on (if any), the app version, the app language and your phone's operating system and version. Your notes and plans are never included.
- We use your email only to reply to you and to improve the app's content.
- We don't share it with anyone.
- We delete it within 12 months, or sooner if you ask us to.
Our website
Benvenù's website uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking scripts. It's hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as your IP address in order to deliver the pages and protect the site from attacks. We don't use this data to identify or follow you. If you pick light or dark mode on the website, your browser remembers that choice on your device; it's never sent to us.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll publish the new version here with a new date.
